Day Trip to Temple

Dear Lamoni Heartland Mission Center Members and Friends,

You are invited to attend a day trip to the Community of Christ Temple in Independence, MO on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.  Our day will begin at 7:45 am by assembling at the West Des Moines Community of Christ, 4504 Ashworth Road in West Des Moines.  Our next pick-up spot will be at Lamoni Community of Christ, 531 W. Main, Lamoni, IA at 9:00 am.  Transportation has been arranged by bus and we have 36 seats.  Your completed registration (see below) will reserve your spot.  The cost for Transportation will be $60/ person.  The first 36 reservations we receive will get a seat on the bus. Please bring a sack lunch.  We will have a picnic on the roof top when we arrive at the Temple.   We will be stopping for supper on the way home and sharing fellowship together.  You will be responsible for paying for your meal.  Questions? 7:45 am Meet at West Des Moines Community of Christ and board the bus.

8:00 am Departure

9:00 am Arrive at Lamoni Community of Christ  Coffee and Bathroom break

9:20 am  Departure

11:30 am Arrive at the Temple, 1001 W. Walnut, Independence, MO

11:45 -12:45 am Labyrinth and Lunch on the rooftop.

1:00 pm Prayer for Peace presented by our group in the Temple Sanctuary, live-streamed

1:30 pm Temple tour and personal meditation on the worshipper’s path

3:15 pm Outside break on World Plaza

3:30 pm Gather in the small Chapel for singing

4:15 pm Departure for trip back to Iowa

Dinner stop on the return trip

7:15  Arrive in Lamoni

7:30 pm Depart for West Des Moines

8:30 pm Arrive at the West Des Moines church.
