Hospital Ministry

Hospital Ministry

Patients from across Iowa often travel to Des Moines for hospital care. Our hospital ministry team is prepared to respond to requests for hospital visitation, chaplaincy and Laying on of Hands or Prayer for the Sick.

Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.

James 5:14-16

When visiting a Des Moines area hospital, you may wish to contact our Hospital Ministry Coordinator to arrange for a priesthood member to visit you in the hospital or offer prayer remotely. Please contact Julie Goode to coordinate hospital ministry from a Community of Christ minister. In other areas, contact your Pastor or your congregations coordinator for hospital ministry or the hospital chaplain.
