We sing of the beauty of diversity and the blessings of community. Now you can help live out that proclamation in tangible ways by supporting a mission center presence at the upcoming PRIDE weekend, June 7-9 in Des Moines. We want to host a table, sharing our enduring principles and authentic hospitality with our LGBTQ+ communiity and allies, and we invite you to support this in several ways.
1. Sign up to be a host at the table. Set up will be on Friday by noon, and then multiple 3 hour shifts will need to be filled for Saturday between 10-7 and Sunday between 12-5. Take down on Sunday afternoon will also need to be filled. Contact Kris Judd @ [email protected] to volunteer by May 15th.
2. Offer a monetary donation to help cover the cost of the event, including the fee for the table as well as brochures and resources to invite people to sacred community in Community of Christ. Contact Steve Bolie for receipt of your donation from L.H.M.C.
3. Pray for those who are helping in various ways, imagining the kin-dom of God within and among us.
4. Offer other ways to contribute to the work of the mission center’s Peace and Justice and Diversity and Inclusion teams. Contact Steve Bolie, Kris Judd, Vince Lewis, or Janelle Anders for more information.
