Racial Justice Day

Racial Justice Day is a special Community of Christ day of fasting and prayer established by World Conference Resolution. The resolution called for “an annual day of fasting and prayer regarding an awareness of our need to address the issues of prejudice and racism on a personal, church, and world level.” (WCR 1200, April 12, 1988). We will observe Racial Justice Day on Sunday January 17, 2021 with a Zoom worship featuring special guest minister Cathi Cackler-Veazey, co-chair of the World Church Diversity and Inclusion Team. The Lamoni Heartland USA Mission Center Diversity Team will lead this worship on the theme: “Here I Am !” (Reference: SAMUEL 3:1-20).

“God says, “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of
injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every
yoke?” Isaiah 58:6 (NIV)
